A fundamental teaching of Bahá’u’lláh is the oneness of the world of humanity. Addressing mankind, He says,
Ye are all leaves of one tree and the fruits of one branch. By this it is meant that the world of humanity is like a tree, the nations or peoples are the different limbs or branches of that tree, and the individual human creatures are as the fruits and blossoms thereof.

Learn About the Bahá'í Faith
What Bahá'í's Believe
Throughout history, God has sent to humanity a series of divine Educators—known as Manifestations of God—whose teachings have provided the basis for the advancement of civilization. These Manifestations have included Abraham, Krishna, Zoroaster, Moses, Buddha, Jesus, and Muhammad. Bahá’u’lláh, the latest of these Messengers, explained that the religions of the world come from the same Divine Source and are in essence successive chapters of one religion from God. Bahá'ís believe the crucial need facing humanity is to find a unifying vision of the future of society and of the nature and purpose of life. Such a vision unfolds in the writings of Bahá'u'lláh. |
Community Building
It’s no secret that America is going through a tumultuous time. Tensions and divisions surface every day, reminding us that the stains of injustice and racial prejudice are set deeply in the fabric of our society. Bahá’ís are committed to reshaping society around principles of oneness – such as love, inclusivity and reciprocity. We hope to join hands with the countless like-minded Americans working for these same goals, and invite everyone to take a look at our approach. |
Oneness of Humanity
All of the teachings of the Bahá'í Faith revolve around one central principle: that all of humanity was created as a single unit, like a family. Bahá'u'lláh, the founder of the Bahá'í Faith, infused this principle into all of the spiritual concepts and social activities of the Faith. The oneness of humanity sounds simple, but has profound implications when we explore the countless dimensions and layers of oneness. |
